17 years ago Zach moved up to Alaska from the foothills of the Cascades, just east of Seattle, WA. Him and his wife raised their first two kids for four years in a dry cabin they built 40 miles outside of Haines. Living the first two year off the grid and their cabin unfinished. He lived in Fairbanks for 4 years while pursuing aviation. Ending up in Valdez in 2015.

Zach owns and guides for Alaska Guide Co. He has 25+ years of SLR photography, rock climbing, backcountry hiking, and canoeing. 20+ years of kyaking.
