Valdez is great for the entire range of paddle sports, from whitewater rafting to stand up paddleboarding.
We have alpine lakes to float around in on a hot day. Valdez Glacier Lake you can float among icebergs. The Lowe River offers multiple levels of float from Class III through Keystone Canyon to a lazy Class I for the last several miles. Port Valdez and Mineral Creek Islands get you a different perspective of town and the mountains. Prince William Sound is also a great place to paddle around for one or multiple days.
