Longboarding
Valdez has a high per capita of longboarders especially for a remote Alaskan town. There is plenty of good pavement to make longboarding an enjoyable way to get around Valdez or just enjoy a summers evening.
The bike path from Valdez around to Allison Point and back makes for an great full day of scenic longboarding and many opportunities for catching wildlife viewing you might otherwise miss in a hurried pace.
Not that it's the same as longboarding but Valdez does also have an outdoor skatepark for those who prefer to do tricks on a board.
