Valdez Glacier Lake
Glacier View Park is located about 5 miles outside of Valdez at the end of Airport Road, just past the airport.
Up until the 1950's Valdez Glacier extended all the way to Glacier View Park. In the 2010's Valdez Glacier began making it's retreat around the bend in the lake. Over 2017-2019 much of Valdez Glacier claved and now only a small shelf of rocks atop the glacier is visible on the far shore.
Icebergs fill the lake all year long and in summer some float right to the shore of Glacier View Park.
